Dear minigolf enthusiasts,
dear athletes,
dear guests,
we are delighted that this year's Minigolf World Championship is taking place in our beautiful city of Arnsberg. Being selected as the host city for this important sporting event fills us with great pride – and with great anticipation for the event and the many athletes and spectators from all over the world whom we will be welcoming to our city for this occasion.
The sport of minigolf inspires many people. They appreciate, among other things, the wide variety of courses and the creativity involved in the game. For this reason, minigolf is a very popular sport for the whole family here in Germany. Each course has its own challenges and attractions, which makes both playing and watching exciting. We in Arnsberg are all the more pleased to be able to enjoy the Minigolf World Championships in our own city.
The organizing club, MSK Neheim-Hüsten, has already proven its potential to handle such a great event in 2022, when it successfully organized the German Minigolf Championships. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the members of MSK Hüsten for their hard work and dedication, ensuring we have a great time.
From August 19th to 23rd, we await you, dear friends of minigolf, here in the beautiful Sauerland region. Here in the city of Arnsberg you will find not only plenty of urban flair and charming shopping and dining options, but also alleys that showcase our city's historical heritage, beautifully preserved half-timbered houses, numerous nationally renowned cultural offerings, and magnificent natural surroundings with excellent hiking and cycling trails.
In this context, our city of Arnsberg is particularly looking forward to the international flair that the Minigolf World Championships will bring to us – and this in a very special year for us: 50 years ago, the present-day city of Arnsberg was founded. We are celebrating this special anniversary with numerous exciting events. The Minigolf World Championships – I can already say this – will be a major highlight of Arnsberg's anniversary year.
